Said the Gramophone is an Mp3 blog which was launched in 2003, one of the first of its type. It features writing by several Canadian bloggers, including Sean Michaels, Montreal-based journalist and writer of fiction. The blog is popularly considered a main catalyst for the early success of artists including Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Beirut, Yeasayer and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, whom contributor Dan Beirne posted about in 2005 [1] [2]
Said the Gramophone was listed as one of the 25 Best Blogs of 2009 in Time Magazine.[3]
Guest contributors to the blog have included Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Beirut, Silver Jews, novelist Jonathan Lethem and Canadian writer Carl Wilson, among many others.[4]
